“The Cleanest Renewable Energy Source”
The horizontal air movement, which is caused by the forces from the uneven heating and cooling of the earth, is called the wind. Wind energy is a form of solar energy. Approximately 2% of the solar energy is converted into the kinetic energy of the wind. Short-term variability of wind intensity is one of the most important characteristic of the wind. Wind intensity shows a wave characteristic that always varies in very short periods. The magnitude of this variation depends on both air and earth conditions as well as obstacles. The meteorological and topographic properties have a great effect on the intensity and other characteristics of the wind in a region.
